Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to minimize the screen. With the point of regard on the minimized app,
double-tap with two fingers to close the app.
Tap to set the point of regard. Then, double-tap to return to the Accessibility screen. Tap to set the
point of regard. Then tap again to return to the System Settings screen. With the point of regard on the
minimized app, double-tap with two fingers to close the app.
Turn on the Keyboard Echo setting using gestures
Make sure you're saying what you think you're saying. The Keyboard Echo feature reads screen information when you type
in a text field.
When you turn on the BlackBerry Screen Reader, you can use gestures to complete tasks.
1. When you have the BlackBerry Screen Reader turned on, swipe down and to the right with one finger to access Quick
Tasks mode.
2. Tap with one finger to open the BlackBerry Screen Reader settings.
3. Tap Keyboard Echo with one finger to set the point of regard.
4. Double-tap Keyboard Echo to set the point of regard. Then, tap to activate the Keyboard Echo option.
5. In the Keyboard Echo drop-down list, double-tap None, Characters, Words, or Characters and Words to set the point
of regard. Then, tap to activate your choice.
Turn on the Keyboard Echo setting using device settings
1. On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.

Double-tap Settings to set the point of regard. Then, tap to activate the Settings menu.
3. Double-tap Accessibility to set the point of regard. Then, tap to activate the Accessibility option.
4. Double-tap Screen Reader to set the point of regard. Then, tap to activate the Screen Reader option.
5. Double-tap Keyboard Echo to set the point of regard. Then, tap to activate the Keyboard Echo option.
6. In the Keyboard Echo drop-down list, double-tap None, Characters, Words, or Characters and Words to set the point
of regard. Then, tap to activate your choice.
7. Close the BlackBerry Screen Reader settings in one of the following ways:
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to minimize the screen. With the point of regard on the minimized app,
double-tap with two fingers to close the app.
Double-tap to return to the Accessibility screen. Tap again to return to the System Settings screen. With the
point of regard on the minimized app, double-tap with two fingers to close the app.
Change BlackBerry Screen Reader language using gestures
If you speak more than one language, your BlackBerry Screen Reader can too. You can quickly change the text-to-speech
(TTS) language if you're reading web content or email messages in a different language than the preferred language that
you set for your BlackBerry device.
