To delete email messages on your handheld
and your desktop
1. On the Home screen, click the Messages icon. The Messages screen appears.
2. Click the trackwheel to view the menu and click Options. The Message List
Options screen appears.
3. In the Delete On field, press the Space key until Mailbox & Handheld
appears.
Integration with
enterprise email
account
If you have integrated your desktop software with an enterprise email
account, you can configure your Message List Options so that email
messages that are deleted on your handheld are also deleted on your
desktop each time you reconcile email messages manually using the
desktop software’s Intellisync tool.
Note: If you have enabled wireless email reconciliation and set the Delete On field to
Mailbox & Handheld, messages that are deleted on your handheld, are also deleted on
your desktop and likewise, messages that are deleted on your desktop are also deleted on
your handheld.
To use wireless email reconciliation, your handheld must meet one of the following
conditions:
• If your handheld is integrated with an enterprise email account, your handheld must be
enabled for wireless email reconciliation on BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 3.6 or
later for Microsoft Exchange, or on BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 2.2 or later for
Lotus Domino.
• If your handheld is integrated with a new or existing ISP email account, your handheld
must be enabled on version 1.7 or later of the BlackBerry Web Client.
Contact your system administrator or service provider for more information on whether
you can use wireless email reconciliation.
