5 In Car Kit Mode, the phone display reads "Car Kit Mode" until the phone is unplugged from the car charger. Sometimes, however, the LG phone will accidentally remain in Car Kit Mode even when it is not plugged in. This is usually due to a build-up of debris or dirt in the port where the car charger plugs in. Fortunately, this problem is usually remedied through a few simple cleaning procedures. Things You'll Need Compressed Air for Electronic Cleaning Dry Toothbrush Step 1 Turn off your cell phone. Step 2 Remove the battery from the back of the cell phone. Step 3 Hold the compressed air can six inches away from the car kit port. Step 4 Depress the trigger on the compressed air and blow the air into the car kit port, moving the can around so that all of the port is blown by the air. Step 5 Take the toothbrush and gently rub it over the car kit port to loosen any remaining debris. Step 6 Put the battery back into the back of the cell phone. Step 7 Press the power button to turn the cell phone back on. "This problem is also occasionally remedied by putting the phone into vibrate mode and then switching it back to its normal mode."
