5 Software is required for it to be unlocked you can bring it to one of those cellphone repair shops also, the software needed is usually costs a bit (price varies from 5$ - 50$) and its rather complicated to do, best bet is to bring it to a shop and get it done, it should also be noted that you have to make sure your phone in compatible with the new carriers network, if it has a sim card or if it doesn't there is a lot of variables to take into account so some research may be required on your end to see if your phone is even compatible with the carrier your looking at
