why my phone unable to connect to pc using USB connector...

after connected USB cable to my PC,it still display not connected. why?

1 my phone turned off last night while i was asleep. I thought maybe the battery was flat een though it hadnt been before i slept. Anyway now the battery does register being charged when plugged in to be charged and the phone will not turn on. The phone is only 2 days old?
