11. Text messages
With the text message network service you can receive text
messages from a variety of sources, such as another wireless
phone or a Web site set up by your service provider.
Your phone can handle messages of up to about 250
characters, and has space to receive up to about 30
messages, depending on the length of each one.
Contact your service provider for more information about
this network service.
Reading messages
When you receive a text message, the phone displays the
indicator, either
Message received
or
New
emergency message
(if an emergency message has been
received), and makes a sound (depending on the message
alert tone; see ‘Message alert tone’ on page 25).
To read the message, press
Read
. This takes you to the
Inbox, with the new message selected. Press
Read
again. If
necessary, use the scroll keys to read the entire message.
After reaching the end of the message, use the scroll keys to
view the sender’s name or phone number, and the date and
time the message was received.
Options when reading messages
Several options are available while you’re reading a
message. Just press
Options
, scroll to the one you want,
then press
OK
.
Erase
deletes the message. Press
OK
to confirm the deletion
(or to cancel).
Use number
calls any phone number included in the
message. If more than one number was included, a list of
numbers is displayed. Choose one and press
Call
.
Save
saves the message in the
Saved
folder.
