You have several options for setting how the backlight
operates. When the phone is closed, the backlight remains
off, thus conserving battery power. When the flip is open,
the length of time that the backlight remains on can be set as
explained below. Remember that backlight use drains your
battery faster. To select backlight options:
1. Press to display the Main menu.
2. Press for Setup / Tool.
3. Press for Display.
4. Press for Backlight.
5. Press the scroll keys to scan menu options: Always On, 8
or 30 Seconds (after last keypress), or Off.
6. When the desired option displays, press to save the
setting.
Note: The Backlight options work the same as described
above when the phone is attached to the optional hands-free
car kit.
