Cleaning the scanner components
Follow the procedure below to periodically check and clean the scanner components.

Use a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth to
remove any ink or paper debris from the
interior of the fax (shaded area),
especially around the platen.

When you are finished, close the printer
cover.

Reconnect the power cord.
Be careful not to touch the BJ cartridge or its holder.

Disconnect the power cord from the fax.

Open the operation panel partially by
gently pulling it towards you.

While holding the operation panel open,
clean these components:
It only opens slightly.
• Separation guide and separation roller
Wipe with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
• White sheet and scanning glass
Wipe with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth moistened with
water, then wipe with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
