Customizing the aera
Viewing FM TMC Trafc
Subscription Information
NOTE: Some aera models can receive FM
TMC (Trafc Message Channel) trafc.
If your aera is trafc compatible, you can
only access the trafc settings if your aera
is connected to external power and an FM
TMC trafc receiver.
Touch Tools > Settings > Trafc. The trafc
settings vary based on the location you
selected as your locale in the initial setup.
Enable Trafc—turn trafc on and off.
Current—select which provider to use.
Select Auto to use the best provider for the
area, or select a specic provider to use.
Find More—search for additional TMC
trafc providers. If you are in a new area,
touch Yes to clear the provider table.
Subscriptions—view your FM trafc
subscriptions and expiration dates (these are
listed on the main trafc settings page for
North American devices).
Add
(or Subscriptions > Add)—add a
new subscription to a trafc service. Go to
www.garmin.com/fmtrafc to purchase a
subscription.
The trafc subscription code cannot be
reused. You must obtain a new code each
time you renew your service. If you own
multiple FM trafc receivers, you must
obtain a new code for each receiver.
Changing Bluetooth
Technology Settings
Touch Tools > Settings > Bluetooth.
Phone—select Add to pair with a device that
has Bluetooth wireless technology. The aera
PIN code (or passkey) is 1234.
Drop—select the device you want to
disconnect, and touch Yes.
Remove
—select the device you want to
delete from the aera memory, and touch
Yes.

Bluetooth—enable and disable the
Bluetooth component. The Bluetooth
icon appears on the Menu page if the
Bluetooth component is enabled. To prevent
a device from automatically connecting,
select Disabled.
Audio
—select to listen to high-quality audio
wirelessly with a Bluetooth headset. See
page 13 and page 20.
Restore
—restore the original Bluetooth
settings. This does not clear the pairing
information.
