Using FM TMC Trafc

NOTE: Garmin is not responsible for the

accuracyofthetrafcinformation.

TheFMtrafcreceiver,whichisintegrated

in the vehicle power cable, is included in

some nüvi packages.

Thetrafcreceiverandthenüvimustbe

in data range of an FM station transmitting

TMC(TrafcMessageChannel)datato

receivetrafcinformation.Forinformation

NOTE: Heated (metallized) windows

could degrade the performance of the

trafcreceiver.



NOTE: You do not need to activate the

subscription included with your FM

trafcreceiver(ifitcamewithone).The

subscription activates automatically after

yournüvireceivestrafcsignalsfromthe

pay service provider.

When calculating your route, the

nüviexaminesthecurrenttrafcand

automatically optimizes the route for the

shortest time. You might still be routed

throughtrafcifnoalternativeroadsexist.

Ifaseveretrafcdelayoccursonyour

route while you are navigating, the nüvi

automatically recalculates the route.

When you receivetrafcinformation,a

trafcicon appears in the top left corner of

the Map page. The trafciconchangescolor

toindicatetheseverityoftrafcconditions

on your route or the road you are currently

traveling. TouchtheicontoviewtheTrafc

menu.

Viewing Advertisements

In North America, if your nüvi package

includesatrafcreceiver,youwillreceive

advertisements and coupons. Touch the

advertisement on the screen to search

for the nearest location related to that

advertisement.

CAUTION: Do not attempt to write down

the coupon codes while driving.
