Description: Thiscommandisintendedtopreservethelifeofthe

displayhardwareunit.Thefirmwaremaintainsafive‐minutetimer

thattriggersthisfeature.TheScreenSavefeaturecanbedisabled

throughacommandfromthehostsoftware.Whenthefeatureis

notdisabled,twospecificoptionsexist.

TheSetScreenSaveBlank

operationcausesthedisplaytogoblankwhenthetimerexpires.

Whenthefirmwarereceivesthecommandcode,theScreenSave

modeiscanceled,andthefive‐minutetimerisestablished.Screen

SaveBlankremovespowerfromtheRetailDisplay,andrefreshes

thedisplayin

thesamemannerastheSetLowPowerOn

command.Atpowerup,thetimerisestablishedatfiveminutes,

andScreenSaveBlankisestablishedasadefault.Thefiveminute

timerisnotresetbyanyinvalidorincorrectcommand.

Description: Thiscommandcausesthevisibledisplaytowalk

righttoleftwhentheScreen Savetimerexpires(fiveminutes).The

charactersonthedisplayappeartowalkacrossthecorresponding

displayrowfromrighttoleft.Thetwolinesinthe2x20Display

walkinparallelcompletelyoff

theleftsideofthedisplay,andthen

thetwolinesappeartocomebackfromtheright.Ifthedisplayis

spacefilled,thennoeffectisperceivedeventhoughthewalkingis

takingplace.TheScreenSaveBlankmodeisthedefaultmodeafter

powerup.
