The mode requires far fewer keystrokes than the
traditional multi-tap method; English mode.
When the phone is in the Quick English mode,
keys behave as follows:
Quick English( ) Mode
This mode allows you to enter English words with
only one keypress per letter. Each key on a keypad
has more than one letter - a single press on the
key could be J, K, or L. The Quick English mode
automatically compares your key presses to an
internal Quick English linguistic database to
determine the correct word.
Case Shift Indicator
Displays the current shift mode;
indicates Initial Capital,
indicates Capital Lock.
No indication means Lower Case.
Case Shift Key
Press this key repeatedly to
switch between Initial Caps,
Caps Lock, and Lower Case
letters.
“Smart” Period Key
Press this key to enter a period
(.) quickly.
Text Area
Displays the selected characters you entered.
Mode Indicator
Displays the current text entry mode.
Space Key
Inserts a space into your message.
Letter Keys
Alternate Word Key
Displays alternate word choices for the keys you have
typed.
Up/Down Scroll Keys
Scrolls through choices in the
Character Selection Map. Also
scrolls through text modes
available when you access
Mode change menu.
Left Soft/*Scroll Key
Perform the function indicated by
the text above this key.
*Moves the cursor left through
your text message.
Clear/*Change to Soft Key
Press this key to delete keystrokes from the Keystroke
Area and/or characters from the Text Area.
*Change the function of soft keys to Soft Key.
Right Soft/*Scroll Key
Perform the function indicated by the text above them
(According to this example, this key is Mode key).
*Moves the cursor right through your text message.
Change to Scroll Key
Chnage the function of soft keys
to scroll.
Save Mode
