Backlight
The backlight illuminates the display and the
keypad. When you press any key or open the
phone, the backlight turns on and remains on for a
given period of time, depending on your setting in
the
Back light
menu (
Menu 5.2.3
). When no keys
are pressed, the display turns off after one minute
to conserve your battery power.
To specify the length of time the backlight is active,
set the
Back light
menu. See page 112 for further
details.
External display
Your phone has an external display on the phone. It
indicates when you have an incoming call or a
message. It also alerts you at the specified time
when you have set an alarm by displaying the
corresponding icon on it.
When you close the phone, the display shows the
current time on an analogue clock. You can set the
display to show the current date instead of the
analogue clock using the
Front LCD display
menu
(
Menu 5.2.6
). You can also select how long the
date or analogue clock displays. For details, see
page 113.
Appears when Mute mode is active.
Shows the level of your battery. The more
bars you see, the more power you have
remaining.
