Network mode
(Menu 9.6.3)
The Network mode feature enables you to select the
network you use.
•
Automatic
: the phone scans for available
networks.
•
GSM
: The phone operates in GSM network.
•
UMTS
: The phone operates UMTS (3G) network.
You can get a higher speed quality than on lower
generation networks, and use advanced data and
information services, such as video calls.
Connections
(Menu 9.6.4)
You can set up information about your network
connection. In most cases, you don’t need to change
the settings. In case of problems, please contact your
service provider.
Adding a connection profile
Press <
Options
> and select
New
. The following
options are available:
•
Set name
: edit the name of the network setting.
•
Access name
: edit the access point name used
for the address of the GPRS network gateway.
•
Auth type
: choose the type of authentication
used.
•
User ID
: edit the server login ID.
•
Password
: edit the server password.
•
Protocol
: select the protocol from among HTTP,
WAP, and Other.
•
Home URL
: enter your homepage address.
•
Proxy address
/
Port
: (available only with the
HTTP protocol) set the proxy server address and
port.
•
Gateway address
: (available only with the WAP
protocol) set the gateway address.
•
Secure connection
: (available only with the WAP
protocol) turn the secure mode on or off.
•
Linger time(sec.)
: set a time period after which
the network is disconnected if there has been no
new data traffic in that time.
