Messages
The SMS (Short Message Service) function is a
network service and may not be supported by your
network. Messages can be sent by text, fax, E-mail
and paging messaging systems, provided that these
services are supported by your network. To send
text messages by phone, you must obtain the
number of the SMS centre from your service
provider.
When the message icon ( ) appears, you have
received new text messages. If the message
memory is full, an error message is displayed and
you cannot receive any new messages. Use the
Delete option in your inbox and outbox to delete
obsolete messages.
Inbox
(Menu 1.1)
The inbox is used to store the messages that you
have received.
When you select this menu, the list of messages in
the inbox is displayed with the senders’ phone
numbers or names, if available in your phonebook.
1. Select the message you wish to read from the
list and press the View soft key to view the
message contents.
2. To scroll through the message, press the Up
or Down key.
3. To scroll to the previous or next message, press
the or key.

While reading a message, you can choose the
following options by pressing the Options soft key.
Delete: allows you to delete the message.
Send: allows you to resend the message. For
further information on how to send a message, see
page 65.
Reply: allows you to reply to the sender by sending
a text message.
Call Back: allows you to call the sender back.
Cut Address: allows you to extract URL or
E-mail addresses or phone numbers from the
message text or the sender’s phone number, so that
you can save them in the phone memory.
Move To Phone: allows you to move the message
from the SIM card to the phone memory. This
message is only available when you select a
message stored in the SIM card.
Move To SIM: allows you to move the message
from the phone memory to the SIM card. This
message is only available when you select a
message stored in the phone memory.
Select Objects: allows you to save media objects,
such as sounds or images, from the message into
your phone. You can then use the objects when
writing a message; for details, see page 66.
Outbox

The outbox is used to store the messages that you
have already sent or will send.
