3. PresstheZEROkey.WhentheZEROkeyispushedthefollowingwillhap pen:

A. Thescalewillre settozeroandtheword

ʺZEROʺwillappearinthedisplay.

B. Thelockfunctionwillthenbeturned offandthewordʺLOCKʺwilldisappearfromthedi spl ay.

NOTE:Thescaleisnowac tiveandcontinuallyupdatingthe weightdisplay.

4. Placethepatientinthesling.Forpatien tplacementinstructionsrefertoOperat ion

on page 12.

5. Activ atethe liftmechanismtoraise thepatie ntuntil they are completely suppo rtedbythelift. For patie ntlifting ins tructions,

refertoLiftingthePatient

onpage 14.

6. Notetheweightdispl ay.

7. Whentheweightdi s pla ybecomesstable presstheLOCKbuttontolocktheweightdisplay. Thiswillbe indicated bythe word

ʺLO CKʺappearinginthe displaywindow. 

NOTE:Shoulditbeneces sary toun locktheweightwh ilethepatientisstillsupportedbyth e

lift,theUNLOCKbuttonma ybepr essed.The

weightwillunlockandthewordʺLOCKʺwilldisappearfr omthe displaywindow.Theweightvaluewillthenbeupdated.Oncetheweight

becomesstabletheweightcanbelockedagainbypressingtheLOCKbutton.

NOTE:Sta bl ebe ingdefinedas the weight

fluctuatingtwotenths(2/10)ofapound.For exa mple,apatientweighingonehundre d(100) lbs the 

scalewillfluctuatebetween99.8and100.2untilthe LOCKkeyispres sed.Fluc tuationoftheweig htdisplayedis normalas notedabove.Press

theLOCKbuttontolock the weight.

8. Theliftmayno wbelow eredandtheslingremovedfromthepatient.

NOTE:Thepatientʹsweightwil lcontinuetobeseeninthedisplaywindow.

Thedisplaywillturnoffautomaticallyafteratwominuteperiod

ofnon‐use[nocha ngesin weightexceedingfive (5)pounds(2 kilograms)]. YoucanNOT adjus tthe timedelayforautomaticshutoff.Afterthe

displayhasturned off, the weight may be recalledbypressingthe ON/OFF button.

Theunit ca nbe tu rnedoff by pr essingthe ON/OF Fbutton 

asecondtime.

Replacing the Battery

NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 8.4.

NOTE:Thescaleispoweredbyanine (9)voltalkalinebatterythatshouldpr ovide approximately1500readingsbeforeneedingre placement.

Whenbatteryreplacementisneeded, LOBATwillappearonthedisplay.Performthefollowing:

1. Slidethebatterydooropeninthedirectionof

thearrow.

2. Removeexisting battery.

3. InstalltheNEWbattery.

4. Reinstallthebatterydoor.
