Using Subject Tracking
Use this function to take pictures of moving subjects. When a subject is registered,
the camera automatically moves the focus area to track the subject.
1 Register a subject.
• When the white border is displayed at the center of the
screen, align the subject with the border and press the
k button.
• When the border glows red, the camera is unable to
focus on the subject. Change the composition and try
to register the subject again.
• When the subject is registered, a yellow focus area is
displayed on that subject and the camera begins
tracking that subject.
• To deregister the subject, press the k button.
• If the camera cannot track the registered subject
anymore, the focus area will disappear and the
registration will be canceled. Register the subject
again.
2 Press the shutter-release button all the way
down to take a picture.
• The camera focuses on the focus area when the
shutter-release button is pressed halfway. The focus
area will glow green and focus will be locked.
• If the focus area is not displayed when the shutter-
release button is pressed halfway, the camera focuses
on the subject at the center of the frame.
B Notes on Subject Tracking Mode
