Update your smart phone without a PC (FOTA)
This feature allows you to conveniently update your phone's software to a newer
version via Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA), without connecting with to a USB cable.
1 From the Home screen, tap the Menu Key
> System settings > About phone
> Software Update.
2 Select the desired option.
Check now for update – You can check the new software update and conduct the
update (Wi-Fi mode is enabled for a download of more than 50MB).
Last update – Displays the date of the last software update.
SET AUTOMATIC CHECK
Check automatically - When checked, you will be notified of the new update when it
becomes available.
Next check for updates - Displays the date when the next check for software update
will occur.
NOTE
- If no connection to the data network has previously been made since
purchase, the timeline for the next update cannot be identified since the
interval for the automated update will not be created.
- You will not be charged for data for software updates.
- Available software will be checked automatically.
- Make sure to check if the battery is charged before update.
- After download, you can install the software immediately or select a later
time for the installation.
- Each software version is updated sequentially. Even after the update is
completed, check if there is any newer version available.
- Some features and service may vary by area, phone, carrier, plan and
software version.
- LG reserves the right to make firmware updates available only for selected
models at its own discretion and does not guarantee the availability of the
newer version of the firmware for all handset models.
