Sony Ericsson K600i Disassembly & Screen
Replacement
These instructions are provided as information only; I am not a Sony Ericsson technician.
Disassembly of your phone is at your own risk!
I love my Sony Ericsson K600i. With sleek, understated styling and fantastic features such as
Bluetooth, 1.3 Megapixel digital camera, MP3 playback, built-in AM/FM radio and an easy-to-use
menu system, it's a winner. It also features the legacy Sony Ericsson power and accessory terminal.
That means I can use my K600i with the numerous, affordable chargers and other accessories that
have been Ericsson compatible since the 1990s.
So when I cracked my phone's screen by carelessly smashing it under my laptop in my bag, I was
determined to get my phone back into action quickly. I ordered a replacement screen from eBay
from a Hong Kong vendor ($25) and it arrived to my home in Los Angeles about 10 days later.
Below is a step-by-step procedure of how I replaced my cracked screen.
Tools You Will Need:
• T6 Torx Screwdriver
• Tweezers (optional)
• Small Standard Screwdriver (optional)
Step 1: Remove Back
Flip the tabs to the unlock position (in the direction of the arrows) to release the back cover. Gently
pry the cover off to reveal the battery compartment.
