elements of that type in the target document which have an “id” attribute.
5. Choose the instance of the element you wish to reference.
6. Click Insert. FrameMaker inserts the conref target element at the insertion point.
Creating a new DITA Map
DITA map files are used to define collections of topics, typically for publishing. Maps
define not only topic collections, but also define relationships between topics — sequences,
groups, navigation hierarchies, and so on.
1. To create a new DITA map file, choose DITA>New DITA File>New <map>.
2. In the element catalog, choose topicref. Click insert.
3. The Insert TopicRef dialog appears. Navigate to the DITA topic you wish to include in
the DITA map file. Select the DITA topic, and choose Insert.
PUBLISHING 3D AND INTERACTIVE CONTENT
FrameMaker 8 software provides the capability to embed U3D and SWF files in
FrameMaker documents. These files are rendered as single frames in print output, but can
retain their full interactive capabilities when published to PDF. Acrobat 3D provides the
capability to generate 3-dimensional renditions from many popular computer-aided
design software packages. SWF files are a popular output format for interactive and tuto-
rial content produced by applications such as Adobe Captivate and Adobe Flash.
