9.
Using a T-10 Torx screwdriver, remove the eight-bay SFF drive cage from drive cage bay 1.
10. Using a T-15 Torx screwdriver, remove the backplane from the drive cage.
The outer sleeve is not shown for clarity.
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 27).
2. Do one of the following:
o Open or remove the tower bezel, as needed ("Tower bezel" on page 30).
