Term: Definition:
analog network
A network where the signal is conveyed by varying the
frequency, amplitude or phase of the transmission.
antenna
The portion of your phone designed to transmit and
receive the wireless signal.
battery
The source of power for your mobile phone when the
phone is not connected to a charger.
bookmark
A way to save a web site address (or URL) to your
phone’s memory. Use bookmarks to store the addresses
of your favorite web sites, then recall them so you can
return to the location quickly and easily.
browser
A software program used to view and navigate a
portion of the Internet called the World Wide Web, or
Internet locations developed for the minibrowser.
data call
A call in which your Nokia phone functions as a data/
fax modem, connected to your PC via the DKU-5 cable.
digital network
Network where the signal is converted to a digital or
binary code before transmission.
earpiece
The portion of your phone that contains the speaker.
Used to play the audio portion of a voice call.
earpiece volume
The sound level of the earpiece’s speaker during a call.
e-mail
Electronic Mail. A written form of communication in
which text (and other types of information) is
transmitted between recipients electronically via
special electronic mail systems managed by
corporations and/or Internet service providers.
