To check SMS email service availability and to subscribe to the service, contact

Your device supports the sending of text messages beyond the character limit for a single
message. Longer messages will be sent as a series of two or more messages. Your service
provider may charge accordingly. Characters that use accents or other marks, and characters
from some language options like Chinese, take up more space limiting the number of
characters that can be sent in a single message.
On the top of the display you can see the message length indicator counting backwards from
160. For example, 10/2 means that you can still add 10 characters for the text to be sent as
two messages.
Write and send SMS messages
1. Select Menu > Messages > Create message > Text message.
2. Write the message. See Write text on page 38.
You can insert text templates or a picture into the message. See Templates on
page 52. Each picture message comprises several text messages. Sending one
picture or multipart message may cost more than sending one text message.
3. To send the message, select Send, or press the call key.
4. Enter the recipient’s phone number. To retrieve a phone number from Contacts,
select Search > the desired contact > OK.
