23Messaging
Create messages with text and
symbols only, to send as text messages
(SMS). Add pictures, video, sounds
and more to messages to send as
picture messages (MMS).You can
send picture messages to a mobile
phone or an email address. You can
also create and use templates for your
messages.
Before you use text messaging
The number to your service centre
is already in your phone settings.
However, you can enter the service
centre number yourself.
To enter a service centre number
1 From standby select Menu > Settings
> the Connectivity tab > Message
settings > SMS. The number is shown
if it is saved on the SIM card.
2 If there is no number shown, scroll to
New ServiceCentre and select Add.
3 Enter the number, including the
international “+” sign and country
code.
4 Select Save.
Before you use picture messaging
Both you and the recipient must have
subscriptions that support picture
messaging. If no Internet profile or
message server exists, you can receive
all the settings for MMS automatically
from your network operator at
www.vodafone.com, or at
www.sonyericsson.com/support.
The address of your message server
and an Internet profile are set.
To check the MMS settings
1 From standby select Menu > Settings
> the Connectivity tab > Message
settings > MMS > MMS profile.
2 Scroll to a profile and select Options
> Edit.
To write and send a message
1 From standby select Menu >
Messaging > Create new > Message.
2 Write the message or select > Options
> Add symbol.
3 Scroll to use toolbar options. Scroll
or or to select an option.
4 Select Cont. (You can save a message
for later in Drafts
by pressing and
select Save message).
5 Select Contacts look-up.
6 Select a recipient and select Send.
If you send a message to a group, you
will be charged for each member.
