4 Exchanging Messages
4.1 Sending Text and Multimedia Messages
Messaging lets you compose and send text (SMS) and multimedia messages (MMS) to other mobile
phones.
Open Messaging
Press HOME, then touch the Applications tab, and then touch Messaging. The message list appears.
Create and send SMS and MMS messages
You can compose text (SMS) messages of up to 160 characters. If you continue to type after the limit is
reached, your message will be delivered as one, but count as more than one message. These are
called concatenated messages.
Multimedia messages, also known as MMS, can contain text and a picture, a recorded voice, an audio
file, or a picture slideshow.
Note Messaging automatically converts a text message into a multimedia message when you entered
an email address in the
To field, added a message subject, or attached an item.
If the list of messages
does not fit on the
screen, you can scroll
up the screen to view
more messages, or roll
the TRACKBALL down.
