50 Section 2B: Making and Answering Calls
Using Nextel Direct Connect®
Nextel Direct Connect on your Sprint phone offers instant
two-way “walkie-talkie-style”communication between you
and your family, friends, and co-workers, all at the click of a
button. Perfect for get-in get-out conversations such as
checking status, getting information, getting directions, or
coordinating with others — fast. And Call Alert sends a
repeating alert to other Nextel Direct Connect subscribers to
let them know you want to reach them.
The following Nextel Direct Connect services are available:
DirectConnect®Allows two-way radio communication
with other Direct Connect users.
Group Connect®Create and manage groups “on the fly”
or online to connect instantly with up to 20 other Direct
Connect users at the same time. (Currently Sprint phones
do not support Group Connect calls with Nextel or
PowerSource phones.)*
Team DC
SM
Create a group online that allows nationwide
group calling with up to 35 total Direct Connect users
(with Sprint phones only). With Team DC, all members can
access the most up-to-date group list on their phone.
* Later in 2008, users will be able to include DirectConnectusers
with Nextel phones in their Group Connectgroups.
About Your Direct ConnectNumber
Your Sprint phone allows you two different options for your
DirectConnectnumber:
1. Separate numbers — Your DirectConnect number is a
different one from your cellular number. It will be made
up of three sets of digits separated by asterisks (for
example, 44*5555*111).
2. Asingle number — Your Direct Connect number is the
same as your cellular number (for example, 44*5555*111).
