7.9.6 Synchronization
Using the synchronization function, you can save the data in your address
book to a remote Internet server (network service) or a compatible PC.
After you have saved the data to the remote Internet server, start synchro
-
nization from your telephone to synchronize this data with your telephone.
To synchronize the data from the address book, calendar and notes of the
telephone with the respective data of the compatible PC, start synchroni
-
zation from the PC. The data from your SIM card will not be synchronized.
Please note that synchronization will be terminated if you answer a call
during synchronization. You must then restart the synchronization pro
-
cess.
Synchronizing via the telephone
Before starting synchronization on the telephone, you must proceed as
follows:
Register with a synchronization service.
You can obtain more information about this from your provider.
Request the synchronization settings from your network operator or
provider.
Start the synchronization process from your telephone as follows:
1. Select the connection settings you need for synchronization.
2. Select
Menu > Organizer > Synchroniz. > Server synchronization >
Synchronize data. Mark the data to be synchronized.
3. Select
Menu > Organizer > Synchroniz. > Server synchronization >
Synchronize. Following confirmation, the marked data of the active set
will be synchronized.
The first synchronization or the resumption of an interrupted synchro
-
nization can take up to 30 minutes if you have save a large number of
address book or calendar entries.
Synchronization settings
You may receive the configuration settings required for synchronization
as a configuration message from your network operator or provider.
1. Select
Menu > Organizer > Synchroniz. > Server synchronization >
Synchronization settings and one of the following options:
Configuration, to display only the configurations that support the syn-
chronization. Select a provider and then
Standard or My configuration
for the synchronization.
