SID SCRN ON:
Your phone may be able to select
the programmed (e.g low-cost) type of network.
However, you may experience poor call quality if
only distant networks of this type are available. If no
service is available on this type of network, then the
message
SID SCRN BARRED
will appear, and the
NO
part of the
NO SVC
indicator will flash. In this
instance, you may be able to make emergency calls
(depending on the network and the emergency
number programmed into your phone) but will not
be able to make any other calls, or receive any calls.
SID SCRN OFF:
You will always obtain the highest-
quality call possible. However, the phone may roam,
and the cost of calls when roaming may be greater
(refer to ‘System Select (Menu 1)’, page 35).
To set SID to on or off:
³ Press MENU 1 8. The message
LOCKCODE?
prompts you to enter your lock code.
· Enter your 4-digit lock code (default 1234).
The number will be displayed as asterisks

then press STO. On entry of the correct code, the
currently-selected option will be displayed.
» Press or to select
SID SCRN ON
or
OFF
.
¿ Press STO to confirm the setting. The phone will
use this setting in a few seconds.
Message Alarm (Menu 19)
If you cannot answer your phone for any reason, the
caller or switchboard can leave a message, using the
Digital Messaging Service (DMS).
Menu 19 allows you to change the audible alarm that
alerts you when a message is left.
There are three options:
NO ALARM:
The phone makes no audible sound.
The message and the
MSG
indicator are displayed.
SHORT ALARM:
The phone beeps three times and
is then silent. The message and the
MSG
indicator
are displayed.
LONG ALARM:
The phone beeps continuously for
15 minutes. The message and the
MSG
indicator are
displayed. You can stop the long alarm by pressing
any key.
