preferred connection, the last used connection (if available) is shown
first.
To define the connectivity settings, tap , and select Control panel >
Connectivity settings.
In the General page, define the following settings:
Preferred connection — To change the preferred connection, select a
connection from the list.
Use without asking — If you select this option, the Internet access point
that you selected in Preferred connection is used automatically when
you start an application requiring an Internet connection. In this case,
you do not need to confirm the connection.
On the Idle times page, select the time after which the Internet
connection ends automatically if the connection is not used. Use
Packet data idle time for packet-switched data connections (such as
GPRS), Data call idle time for circuit-switched data calls (such as GSM
data), and WLAN idle time for connections created through a wireless
local area network (WLAN) access point.
Note: Time-based charges may apply to the Internet
connections. Check with your service provider, and adjust the
idle times accordingly.
Note: The network may also have idle timers that may cause the
Internet connection to break, regardless of the idle timers of the
device.
To use a connection automatically, select Control panel >
Connectivity settings> General. Set the desired connection as
Preferred connection, and select Use without asking.
Disable connections
To disable WLAN and Bluetooth connections, briefly press the power
key, select Offline mode, and tap OK. To enable connections, briefly
press the power key, select Normal mode, and tap OK.
The WLAN and Bluetooth connections are also disabled when you place
the protective cover over the device.
