Before putting your phone into operation
Before you use your car phone, note the following:
y The car phone is automatically switched on with the car
ignition.
y When you switch off your car ignition, the car phone is not
switched off automatically; it remains in service for the
period of time that is set using the power down timer. For
further information, see “Power down timer” on page 38
Note
Check your car phone equipment regularly to ensure
that it is correctly mounted and is working properly.
A valid SIM card is required for operation of your car phone. For
further information, see “Installing the SIM card” on page 16.
Stickers in the sales package
The stickers supplied with your car phone are important for
service and related purposes.
X Attach sticker to your warranty card.
Access codes required for the SIM card
y PIN code (4-8 digits):
The PIN (Personal Identification Number) protects your SIM
card against unauthorised use. The PIN code is usually
supplied with the SIM card.
Some service providers may allow you to switch off the
prompt, requesting you to enter the PIN at power on.
y PIN2 code (4-8 digits):
The PIN2 code may be supplied with the SIM card and is
required to access some functions.
y PUK and PUK2 codes (8 digits):
The PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code is required to
change a blocked PIN code. The PUK2 code is required to
change a blocked PIN2 code.
Note
If these codes have not been supplied with your SIM
card, please contact your service provider.
