Note: When sending messages via the SMS network service, your phone may display the words "Message
Sent". This is an indication that the message has been sent by your phone to the message centre number
programmed into your phone. This is not an indication that the message has been received at the
intended destination. For more details about SMS services, check with your service provider.
Reading a text message (Inbox - Menu 2-2)
When you receive a text message in standby mode, you hear a message alert tone, and the
number of new messages as well as are displayed.
1. Press (Read) to view the messages right away. To view the messages later, press and enter
the Inbox menu (Menu 2-2) when you want to do so.
2. Scroll to the desired message and press (Read).
3. Use or to browse through the message.
4. While reading the message, you can press (Options) for the following: Erase, Reply, Chat, Edit,
Use number, Forward, Details.
With Chat, you can have a conversation using text messages with another person. For more
information, see Chat (Menu 3) on page 48.
Viewing a message you have saved (Outbox - Menu 2-3)
In the Outbox menu, you can view the messages that you have written and saved in the Write
messages menu (Menu 2-1). Pressing (Options) allows access to the same functions as in Inbox
(Menu 2-2), except for Reply, Chat, and Details.
