Connect to a GSM network
Insert a SIM card into your BlackBerry® device. For more information about inserting a SIM card, see the printed documentation that came
with your device.
To connect to a CDMA network again, remove the SIM card from your device.
Change the network mode
1. In the device options, click Mobile Network.
2. Perform one of the following actions:
To connect to CDMA networks only, set the Network Mode field to 1XEV.
To connect to either a GSM network or a CDMA network, set the Network Mode field to Global.
To connect to GSM networks only, set the Network Mode field to GSM.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Save.
Verify the status of network connections and services
1. On the Home screen or in the application list, click Manage Connections.
2. Click Services Status.
Wireless network coverage troubleshooting
I cannot connect to a wireless network
Try performing the following actions:
If you are trying to connect to a GSM network, verify that your BlackBerry® device is in global roaming mode and that your SIM
card is inserted in your device correctly.
Verify that you have turned on the connection to the wireless network.
Verify that you are connected to your wireless service provider's network. If you switched wireless networks manually, your device
remains connected to that wireless network until you select your wireless service provider's network again.
If you have specified a specific wireless network connection speed, verify that you are in a wireless coverage area that supports
the connection speed.
I cannot connect to a GSM network
Try performing the following actions:
Verify that your SIM card is inserted in your BlackBerry® device correctly.
