To insert a memory card
1 Insert a fingernail into the gap between the memory card slot cover and the side of
the device, then detach the cover from the slot.
2 Insert the memory card into the memory card slot, with the gold-colored contacts
facing up.
3 Push the memory card further into the slot until you hear a locking sound.
4 Re-attach the memory card slot cover.
A memory card may not be included at purchase in all markets.
Turning the device on and off
To turn on the device
Make sure that the battery is charged for at least 30 minutes before you turn on the device for
the first time.
1 Press and hold down the power key until the device vibrates.
2 If your screen goes dark, briefly press the power key to activate the screen.
3 To unlock the screen, drag up or drag down.
4 Enter your SIM card PIN when requested, then select OK.
5 Wait a while for the device to start.
Your SIM card PIN is initially supplied by your network operator, but you can change it later
from the Settings menu. To correct a mistake made while entering your SIM card PIN, tap .
To turn off the device
1 Press and hold down the power key until the options menu opens.
2 In the options menu, tap Power off.
3 Tap OK.
It may take a while for the device to shut down.
To force the device to shut down
1 Press and hold down both the volume up key and the power key for 10
seconds.
2 After your device vibrates three times, release the keys. The device turns off
automatically.
Screen lock
When your device is on and left idle for a set period of time, the screen darkens to save
battery power, and locks automatically. This lock prevents unwanted actions on the
