ALi M5281 Serial ATA Driver Installation
You can use your SATA3/SATA4 as
1. Normal IDE function.
2. RAID function. (RAID0, 1)
To use SATA3 and SATA4 as normal IDE, please do the following steps
1. Go to the CMOS setup Æ SOYO COMBO Feature Æ Onboard
Device Æand set the “RAID IDE3,4/ SATA3,4” to enable.
2. Install the ALi M5281driver. See driver installation instruction
below.
To use SATA3 and SATA4 as RAID controller, please do the following
steps
1. Go to the CMOS setup Æ SOYO COMBO Feature Æ Onboard
Device Æand set the “RAID IDE3,4/ SATA3,4” to “Enable”.
2. Go to the CMOS setup Æ SOYO COMBO Feature Æ and set the
“First Boot Device” to “Other Device”.
3. Set the “Other Device Boot Order” to “SATA3/SATA4, SCSI”.
4. Press “Ctrl+A” when the ALi M5281 BIOS summary screen
appears..
5. Create RAID set, check appendix A for more info on creating
RAID set.
To boot from the ALi M5281 controller, (SATA3 or SATA4)
1. Go to the CMOS setup Æ SOYO COMBO Feature Æ and set the
First Boot Device to “Other Device”.
2. Set the “Other Device Boot Order” to “SATA3/SATA4,SCSI”.
