Sending DTMF Tones
Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) tones can be used to control electronic
phone services such as bank-by-phone or voicemail.
Manual Dialling
1 Make a call to the desired phone number (e.g. to your bank’s compu-
ter).
2 Key in the digits you want to send as DTMF tones (e.g. your bank ac-
count number and password). To end the call by press (End).
Automatic Dialling
You can also send a string of digits as DTMF tones by first storing the
DTMF string in the Phone Book and then recalling it during a call.
1 Store the string of digits to be sent as DTMF tones in the Phone Book.
2 Make a call to the desired phone number.
3 Press , then press (Options) to access the in-call menu and
scroll with or to Send DTMF and press (OK).
Note: To access the in-call menu option Send DTMF, the menu func-
tion In-Call Functions (Menu 4 6) must be set to On.
4 Scroll with or to the stored DTMF string and press (Send
DTMF) to send the string as DTMF tones. End the call by pressing
(End).
You can also store a phone number and DTMF string in Phone Book, sep-
arated by a pause character, then recall this phone number & DTMF string
combination from Phone Book and start the call by pressing (Call).
To insert a pause character p (of 2.5 seconds), press three times
quickly. All digits following the pause are automatically sent to the
network as DTMF tones after the pause of 2.5 seconds.
To insert a wait character w, press four times quickly. To send the
digits after the waits, press (Send DTMF) when prompted.
Note: Wait characters cannot be stored in a SIM card and can only be
used when manually sending DTMF tones.
