• Leaving the battery in hot or cold places, such as in a closed car in
summer or winter conditions, will reduce the capacity and lifetime of
the battery. Always try to keep the battery between 15 ° C and 25 ° C
(59 F and 77 F). A phone with a hot or cold battery may temporarily
not work, even when the battery is fully charged. NiMH batteries per-
formance is particularly limited in temperatures below -10 ° C (14 F)
and Li-Ion batteries performance in temperatures below 0 ° C (32 F).
• Batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly.
Must not be disposed of in municipal waste.
• Do not dispose of batteries in a fire!
Access Codes
There are several access codes that are used by your phone and its SIM
card. These codes help you to protect your phone and SIM card against
unauthorised use.
When requested for any of the access codes explained below, key in the
appropriate code (displayed as asterisks) and press (OK). If you make
a keying mistake, first delete the incorrect digit by pressing , and then
key in the correct digit.
The access codes (except for the PUK and PUK2 codes) can be changed by
using the Change Access Codes function in the Phone Settings menu
(Menu 4 3).
Note: Avoid using access codes similar to emergency numbers, such as
112, to prevent accidental dialling of the emergency number.
Security Code (5 digits)
The security code protects your phone against unauthorised use. The se-
curity code (security code) is usually supplied with the phone (on an iden-
tification sticker). For more information about using the security code, see
Phone Security (Menu 4 2) in the Menu Functions chapter.
If you key in an incorrect security code
(CODE ERROR) five times in
succession, the phone will not accept the correct security code for the
next five minutes.
