Activate navigation license
Before you can use the navigation feature, you have to activate the included limited-time
license online using an internet access point (network service). Your service provider may
charge you for the connection. To activate the license for both car and pedestrian navigation,
select Options > Extras > Drive & Walk, and follow the instructions.
After the included license expires, to purchase a new navigation license, select Options >
Extras > Drive & Walk or Walk.
To view your licenses, select Options > Extras > My licenses.
Plan a route
To plan a route, select a location on the map or search for a location, press the scroll key, and
select Add to route.
To add more locations for your route, select Options > Add route point, and search for
the location.
To edit the route, press the scroll key, and select Edit route.
To define the settings for the route, select Options > Settings.
To show the route on the map, select Options > Show route.
To navigate to the destination by car or on foot, select Options > Start driving or Start walking.
To save the route, select Options > Save route.
Navigate to the destination
To start navigating, select a location, press the scroll key, and select Drive to or Walk to.
When you use car navigation for the first time, your device may ask you to select the
language for the voice guidance. To change the language later, in the Maps main view,
select Options > Tools > Settings > Navigation > Voice guidance. Voice guidance is not
available for pedestrian navigation.
To switch between different map views during the navigation, press the scroll key, and select
Maneuver view, Bird's-eye view, or Arrow view.
To discard the created route and use another route, select Options > Diff. route.
To stop navigating, select Options >
Stop navigation.
