9. Network (Menu 5)
The menu options you see in your phone are based on your service
provider’s network. The network determines which options actually
appear in the phone’s menu. Check with your service provider for more
information.
The Network menu allows you to customize the way your phone chooses
a network in which to operate while you are within or outside of your
primary or home system. Your phone is set to search for the most cost-
effective network. If your phone can’t find a preferred network, it selects
a network automatically based on the option you choose in the Network
menu.
Roaming options
You can set your phone to roam or search for another network when you
are not in your home area.
1. At the start screen, select Menu > Network > Roaming options and
press Select.
2. Scroll to one of the following options and press Select:
Home only—You can make and receive calls in your home area only.
While roaming, No service appears and you cannot make or receive
calls.
Automatic A—Your phone automatically selects the best available
digital service on the A side of the frequency band first. If it cannot
find digital service, it will use an analog one.
Automatic B—Your phone automatically selects the best available
digital network on the B side of the frequency band first. If it cannot
find digital service, it will use an analog one.
3. Press OK, if necessary, to confirm the activation.
Mode
You can choose whether your phone uses digital or analog service.
1. At the start screen, select Menu > Network > Mode and press Select.
