3 Set up your phone
Before you use your phone, you need
to:
• Charge the battery.
• Connect any accessories you want to use and set up for infrared
transfer.
• Adjust a few phone settings to suit your needs.
• ATTACH THE BATTERY
This section tells you how to install a new battery. If you’re installing a
replacement battery, make sure you use only a Nokia-approved part. See
“Using batteries and chargers” on page <###>.

• CHARGE THE BATTERY
Follow these guidelines to charge the battery.
1 With your phone on or off, connect the lead from the charger to the
bottom of the phone.
2 Connect the charger to an AC wall outlet.
The battery indicator bar starts to scroll up and down after a few
seconds.
3 Disconnect the charger from the phone and AC outlet when the
battery is fully charged.
