Delete a custom word list item
1. In the device options, click Custom Wordlist.
2. Highlight a custom word list item.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Delete.
Delete all custom word list items
1. In the device options, click Custom Wordlist.
2. Highlight a custom word list item.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Clear Custom Wordlist.
Stop displaying contacts in the list that appears when typing
By default, your BlackBerry® device recognizes contacts when you type them.
1. In the device options, click Language.
2. Click Input Options.
3. Set the Use Address Book as Data Source field to Off.
4. Press the Menu key.
5. Click Save.
Stop adding items to the custom word list automatically
1. In the device options, click Language.
2. Click Input Options.
3. Set the Auto Word Learning and Automatic Word Learning from Messages fields to Off.
4. Press the Menu key.
5. Click Save.
Typing shortcuts
• To insert a period, press the Space key twice. The next letter is capitalized.
• To capitalize a letter, hold the letter key until the capitalized letter appears.
• To type the alternate character on a key, press the Alt key and the character key.
• To type an accented or special character, hold the letter key and roll the trackball to the left or right. Click a selected character.
For example, to type ü, hold 3 and roll the trackball to the left until ü is highlighted. Click the trackball.
• To type a number in a number field, press a number key. You do not need to press the Alt key.
