9 Voice mail
Voice mail provides a way for callers who miss you to
leave a message that you can retrieve later. To use
voice mail, you must sign up for the feature with your
wireless service provider.
CHECK MESSAGES
Your phone notifies you when you receive a voice message (see “Set the message
alert tone” on page 50). The message New voice message appears on the phone
screen, along with the
icon.
If you have received more than one voice mail message, depending on your wireless
network, your phone may show the number of messages that you have received.
Note: To use voice mail, you need to learn the various greetings,
passwords, and prompts of the voice mail system. Your service provider
can provide instructions.
SET UP MAILBOX
As part of your network’s voice mail feature, your service provider gives you a voice
mailbox phone number. Save this number in your phone to make retrieving your
voice messages quick and convenient.
1 From the menu, select Messages > Voice messages > Voice mailbox number.
2 Enter your voice mailbox phone number, and press OK.
Your voice mailbox number can be up to 32 digits long and is used until changed.
Therefore, if your phone number changes, you may need to change your voice
mailbox number along with it.
SET GREETINGS
Voice greetings may vary in different wireless systems. If you need information
about how to record your greeting, contact your service provider.
LISTEN TO MESSAGES
The method for listening to your voice messages varies, depending on your service
provider. Call your service provider if you have any questions.
When your phone alerts you to new voice messages, press Listen and follow
the instructions given on the phone.
To listen later, press Exit.
To listen to your voice messages at any time, press and hold the 1 key.
OR
From the menu, select Messages > Voice messages > Listen to voice messages.
Follow the prompts to review your messages.
