Data and Fax Calling Overview
The Samsung 2500 Series phone is capable of sending and
receiving digital data and fax calls when connected to a
computing device (laptop, desktop, handheld, palmtop, etc)
running Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT. The
Samsung 2500 Series phone functions just like a typical modem
on your PC, enabling you to use wireless data involving a wide
variety of Windows software applications.
To use digital data with your Samsung 2500 Series Phone, you
will need to obtain a digital data/fax kit from your service
provider. This kit will contain the necessary cables, software,
and documentation required for you to connect and use your
Samsung 2500 Series phone with your computing device.
Receiving Fax and Data Calls
1. Ensure you have performed the preparations as described
above in the data/fax kit documentation.
2. On the 2500 phone, press to display the Main
Menu.
3. Press for Setup.
4. Press for Data/Fax In.
5. Use the scroll keys to select “Incoming Data Only” or
“Incoming Fax Only” and press OK to save the setting. The
screen displays “No incoming voice calls can be received”,
and the Samsung 2500 phone returns to Standby mode and
displays “Data Only” or “Fax Only” above the banner.
6. Your 2500 phone and computing device are now ready to
receive an incoming fax or data call. When the SCH-2500
phone detects that the PC is receiving a data call, the
display shows “Connecting Data”.
