Getting Started
About this user’s guide
Before you start reading your User’s Guide, there are
a few things you should know:
For ease of reference, see “Getting To Know Your
Phone” on page 17 for a quick overview of the main
functions of the phone, shortcuts and general
information.
A Menu Diagram is located on the inside front cover of
this User’s Guide. This is a quick overview of the
menus in your Sony Ericsson mobile phone.
Your Quick Reference Card on the side back cover of
this manual gives you information about your Sony
Ericsson mobile phone that you can take with you.
Text that is seen in the phone’s display is shown in the
following typeface:

Key names are shown in the following typeface:

When this guide instructs you to press a key, press and
release the key.
When this guide instructs you to press and hold a key,
press and hold the key for one to two seconds.
Available services
Some services and functions described in this user’s
guide are network- or subscription-dependent. Because of
this, all menus may not be available in your phone.
This symbol indicates that a service or function
is network- or subscription-dependent.
Please consult your service provider for more
information about your subscription.
The SIM card
When you register as a subscriber with a service provider,
you get a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card. The SIM
card contains a computer chip that keeps track of your
phone number, the services included in your subscription,
and your phonebook information, among other things.
