Messaging
Your phone supports various messaging services
– SMS messages, enhanced text messages with
pictures and/or melodies (EMS), and email
messages. Please contact your service provider for details
on which services you can use.
SMS messages
Short Message Service (SMS) messages are text
messages can be sent to one person, or to a group
of recipients that you have saved in the phonebook
(see “Groups” on page 28). EMS messages can also
contain pictures, animations, melodies, and sounds.
Before you start
First make sure that the number of your service center is
set. The number is supplied by your service provider and
is usually saved on the SIM card.
Setting the service center number
1 Scroll to
Messages, SMS, Service Centers.
If the service center number is saved on the SIM card
it appears in the display.
2 If there is no number in the list, select
Add New.
3 Enter the number, including the international “+” sign
and country code.
Setting the email gateways
1 Scroll to
Messages, SMS, EmailGatewaySMS.
If the email gateway is saved on the SIM card it
appears in the display.
2 If there is no email gateway in the list, select
Add New.
3 Enter the email gateway.
Sending SMS messages
For information about entering letters, see “Entering
letters” on page 28.
Writing and sending an SMS message
1 Scroll to
Messages, SMS, Send New.
2 Write your message.
Note!
The email gateways is used to send SMS
messages to email addresses.
