Sending text messages
For information about entering letters, see Entering
letters on page 12.
To write and send a text message
1. Scroll to Messages,
YES, SMS, YES, Write new, YES.
2. Write your message,
YES.
3. Enter the recipients phone number or press
to retrieve a number or a group from the phone book.
4. Press
YES to send the message.
Note: If you send a text message to a group, you are
charged for each member of that group.
To insert an object in a text message
1. Scroll to Messages,
YES, SMS, YES, Write new, YES.
2. While writing your message press .
3. Select Insert object,
YES.
4. Select Picture, Sound, Melody or Animation,
YES.
5. Select an object,
YES.
Text formatting
You can change the style, size and alignment of the
text, and create new paragraphs, in a text message.
To format the text in a text message
1. Scroll to Messages,
YES, SMS, YES, Write new, YES.
2. Before you write the text message, press .
3. Select Text formatt,
YES. Then select Text size, Text
style, Alignment or New paragr.,
YES.
4. Select one of the alternatives,
YES.
To select or deselect a Text style press ,
YES.
Receiving text messages
When you receive a text message, the phone beeps and
the message New message Read now? appears in the
display.
To read the text message
Press
YES to read the text messsage, or NO if you want
to read the message later. The message is saved in Inbox
in the SMS menu. You may not receive all parts
of a long message at the same time.
While reading the text message you can, for example,
go to a WAP address found in the text message.
When you have read the text message, press
YES
to select one of the following options, for example,
Reply, Forward or Delete the text message. Press
NO
to close the text message.
