3.13 Camera Interface(2M Fixed Focus Camera)
3.13.1 PMB8810 Camera Interface
The Camera Interface (CIF) represents a complete video and still picture input interface (see Figure 3.13.1).
The CIF contains image processing, scaling, and compression functions. The integrated image processing
unit supports image sensors with integrated YC

processing.
Scaling is used for downsizing the sensor data for either displaying them on the LCD, or for generating
data streams for MPEG-4 compression. In general, YC

C
r
4:2:2 JPEG compressed images should use the full
sensor resolution, but they can also be downscaled to a lower resolution for smaller JPEG files. Scaling also
can be used for digital zoom effects, because the scalers are capable of up-scaling as well.
CIF all data is transmitted via the memory interface to an AHB bus system using a bus master interface.
Programming is done by register read/write transactions using an AHB slave interface.
