Receive Messages in Standby Mode
You can receive messages in standby mode. An alert tone sounds
and a notification message appears in the display when a new
message arrives. The following call message options appear:
View Now
— This selection allows you to view the messages now.
View Later
— This selection allows you to view the messages at a
later date.
Highlight the desired viewing option and then press .
Talk Mode
You can place and receive calls only when your phone is on.
While in a call your phone is in talk mode. Press the
Options
key
( ) to display a list of menu options. (For more information,
refer to “In-Use Menu” on page 21.)
Speakerphone Mode
Lets you use your phone handsfree and/or lets you share a call
with other people nearby.
To enter Speakerphone Mode from Standby Mode:
While in Standby mode, press and hold the
Speakerphone/PTT key ( ), on the right side of the
phone. “
Speaker On
” appears in the display, followed by
the Speakerphone icon ( ) appearing in the status
icon bar.
To exit Speaker Mode from Standby Mode:
While in Speakerphone mode, press and hold the
Speakerphone/PTT key ( ), on the right side of the
phone. “
Speaker Off
” appears in the display.
To enter Speakerphone Mode during a call:
1. During a call, press and hold the Speakerphone/PTT key
( ), on the right side of the phone. You are
prompted to confirm you want the speaker on.
Caution!:
Keep the phone away from you ear while in Speakerphone Mode. (For
more information, refer to “Responsible Listening” on page 100.)
2. Press the
Yes
soft key. The Speakerphone icon ( )
appears in the display.
To exit Speaker Mode:
1. During a call using Speakerphone mode, press and hold
the Speakerphone/PTT key ( ), on the right side of
the phone. You are prompted to confirm you want the
speaker off.
2. Press the
Yes
soft key. The Speakerphone icon ( )
disappears from the display.
Enter/Exit Silent Mode
Silences all tones your phone makes and replaces all of the
ringers with vibration.
