Entering Text
Selecting a Character InputMode
Your Sprint PCS Phone provides convenient ways to enter
words, letters, punctuation, and numbers whenever you are
prompted to enter text (for example, when adding a Contacts
entry or when using Sprint PCS Mail and Text SMS Messaging).
To change the character inputmode:
1. When you display a screen where you can enter text,
press Mode (right softkey).
2. Select a character input mode:

Add Wordto store words that you use frequently
(see page 44).

PresetMessages to enter preset messages (see
page 71).
Ⅲ
RecentMessagesto enter messages used recently.
Ⅲ
Signatureto enter your signature (see page 72).
Ⅲ
T9 Wordto enter characters using predictive
T9 Text Input(see page 43).

Alphabetto enter characters by tapping the keypad
(see page 46).

SYMBOL to enter symbols.
Ⅲ
NUMBERto enter numbers.
Ⅲ
PRESET SUFFIXto enter a presetsuffix (for example,
www., http://, or .com).

SMILEYSto enter smile pictures.

Emoticonsto enter an emotion icon.
Tip:Preset Messages, RecentMessages, and Emoticonsare only available
when composing textmessages.
