When the adjustment for the front left channel has been made, press the

to move to the next channel that requires adjustment. Repeat the procedure outlined above, and then
continue to any additional channel adjustments.
When all channels have been adjusted to the appropriate matching output level, press the Balance

any time the on-screen menus are NOT present will eliminate user
adjustments in the “Balance” and “Trim Speaker Levels” screens.
Important Note: The Trim Speaker Levels menu adjustments should not be used as a substitute for
proper output level adjustments, or as a replacement for the balance controls or volume settings.
Secondary Remote Controls
The lower section of the remote control Secondary Control Cover may be slid down to reveal a
panel of 35 small buttons used to control secondary functions and to give direct access to some set-
tings normally accessed through menus. These are functions used only occasionally, or associated
with a remote zone; “hiding” them under this sliding panel keeps the remote control’s main panel
uncluttered, and the frequently used buttons easy to access. The action of each button will be seen
on the front panel and on the video display as each is pressed.
The group of three Center Mode Adjustments buttons
O
on the first row of the remote control’s
subpanel control the center channel. The first button turns the center channel On and Off with alter-
nate presses. The button marked Wide creates a diffuse center soundstage by feeding a small amount
of the center channel signal into the left and right front channel speakers. The third button of this
group Boosts the center channel level to create a slightly narrower soundstage.
The next button is the Mono Mode Selector

. Pressing this button will switch the system into
monophonic mode when pressed, returning to the previous mode when pressed a second time.
The last button in the top row is the Reset button

. Pressing this button allows quick resetting of
the system’s Surround modes and program profiles to factory default settings (Figure OSD-25), also
possible using the System Reset menus which are explained in detail in the Advanced Features
section of this manual. When this menu appears, pressing the

Menu Control button will reset
the Surround modes; pressing the
¤
Menu Control button will reset all program profiles. Should the
button be pressed accidentally, simply press the Cancel button
