122 Installing System Components
Internal SD Flash Card
Installing an Internal SD Flash Card
WARNING: Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system
cover and access any of the components inside the system. Before you begin this
procedure, review the safety instructions that came with the system.
NOTE: To use an SD card with your system, ensure that the internal SD card port is
enabled in the System Setup program. See "Using the System Setup Program and
UEFI Boot Manager" on page 57.

Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system
from the electrical outlet and peripherals.

Rotate the system feet inward and lay the system on a flat surface.

Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 85.
4 Locate the SD card connector on the internal SD module and, with the
label side facing up, insert the contact-pin end of the card into the slot.
See Figure 3-18.
NOTE: The slot is keyed to ensure correct insertion of the card.
5 Press the card into the card slot to lock it into place.

Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 86.

Place the system upright and on its feet on a flat, stable surface.

Rotate the system feet outward.

Reattach any peripherals, then connect the system to the electrical outlet.

Turn on the system and attached peripherals.
